Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been spotted this week enjoying some family time in California with their children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, who has followed in his father’s footsteps and is learning how to surf. Images published by US media showed the couple on Friday soaking up the sun at a local beach in Santa Barbara, close to their home in Montecito.
Meghan looked relaxed and in high spirits, just a few days before her 44th birthday, donning a pair of denim shorts, an oversized white t-shirt, and a large straw hat. Harry embraced the Californian flair and opted for a pair of black shorts, a dark T-shirt and, a beige baseball hat, and sunglasses. The couple was spotted speaking to people on the beach and also admiring their son as he learned how to catch some waves.
Videos circulating online showed Archie participating in the kids’ competition at the Californian beach. A young girl who appeared to resemble Lilibet was also spotted, but due to the quality of the pictures, it wasn’t possible to confirm whether it was the Sussexes’ daughter or not.
A source told Hello! magazine: “Harry and Meghan were part of a group of parents, they were very down to earth.
“They were so proud of Archie. It was cute to watch – a special family time.”
Archie may be looking up to his own father, who is a big fan of surfing himself.
Last October, footage of Harry battling the Californian waves emerged, driving fans into a frenzy.
The video was uploaded on Instagram by surfing legend Raimana Van Bastolaer.
It was captioned: “In Tahiti, we still call you Prince Harry, but at Surfranch, it’s my Brother. It was an honour to have you surf with me & @kellyslater @michaelanders_ at @kswaveco”
At the time, Harry’s fans were delighted to see the prince enjoying his time in California and said the video solidifies that he will “never return” to the UK.
