Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to work on a documentary that will focus on Princess Diana as part of their new Netflix deal. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 44, had a new “first-look” deal with Netflix that would see their relationship with the streaming giant continue.

As part of this new deal, which has been put in place as their 2020 deal with Netflix is set to expire, the couple have reportedly got new ideas in the works. It is believed that one of the ideas mentioned is for Harry to do a programme about his mother Princess Diana’s 1997 death.

As reported by The Sun, the programme – which is reportedly in the discussion stage – would be timed for 2027 to mark 30 years since the fatal car crash that led to Diana’s death.

An industry source reportedly told The Sun: “If Harry wants to do it then Netflix will bite his hand off.”

The potential programme, which would likely bring in plenty of viewers, would not be the first time the Duke of Sussex has spoken about his mother’s death.

The duke has been very open about the impact losing his mother has had on him, especially in his memoir Spare in 2023.

It was in this book that Harry spoke about finding out about his mother’s death while at Balmoral and walking behind her coffin at her funeral at the age of 12.

The prince has also previously recalled how he had regrets about the last ever conversation he shared with his mother just hours before she died.

He wrote: “She’d called early in the evening, the night of the crash, but I was running around with Willy and my cousins and didn’t want to stop playing, so I’d been short with her.

“Impatient to get back to my games. I wished I’d searched for the words to describe how much I loved her.”
