Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had 'worst year of lives' after 'failing hard' in America

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of attempting to “play saints” as questions arise over their Archewell Foundation charity work.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex started their charity wing shortly after moving away from the UK as part of their dramatic break from the Royal Family in 2020.

But one commentator has questioned the success of the foundation. Speaking on GB News, Kinsey Schofield said: “I think that this has been professionally the worst year of Harry and Meghan’s lives.”

Discussing the release of the couple’s annual report, which was accompanied by a flashy video showcasing various clips of Meghan and Harry talking with charity representatives and beneficiaries, Schofield said: “This is not a video they typically release around this time.

“They usually release this video in January of a recap of everything they’ve done.”

“I think they’re trying to distract from the fact that everybody is recognising that they failed hard this year and they don’t want to move into 2024 with this stamp of losers on their foreheads.”

Schofield said the couple have been attempting to “play saints” as their “ultimate objective”.

“When you think of Harry and Meghan, you visualise them sitting next to Oprah Winfrey,” she said.

“The constant complaining, the glossy Netflix billboards. Their brands are totally not comparable, despite them constantly telling us they are Princess Diana 2.0.

She said people fail to see the connection between the Duke and Duchess and the charity work they do with their Archewell Foundation.

“When you think about the Harry and Meghan brand, you don’t think about charity work”, she said.

“When we think about [Princess] Diana, we see the visuals of her touching the AIDS patients.

“We see her holding babies that were just pure bones. We see her caressing cancer patients.”

Archewell reported charitable donations amounting to $1.2 million (£950,000) in 2023, according to its annual report.
