Prince Harry and Meghan Markle fear 'mouthpiece' Omid Scobie spoilt royal reunion

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly fearful that the claims made in Omid Sobie’s book Endgame have ruined their chances of a royal reunion, amid the growing rift.

Endgame sparked significant controversy when it was released last month, particularly after the Dutch copy of the manuscript went to print containing the names of two Royal Family members who allegedly made comments about Prince Archie’s race.

Scobie continues to deny allegations that he deliberately put the names in the manuscript as a publicity stunt. He said: “I wrote and edited the English version. There’s never been any version that I’ve produced that has names in it.”

Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers then pulled all copies of Endgame from being sold as a way to rectify the mistake.

Harry and Meghan are yet to comment on the claims made in Endgame and the fallout from it, as Scobie has been labelled as Meghan’s “mouthpiece,” though he denies a friendship with her.

Scobie’s efforts to deny his friendship with Meghan and that he deliberately named the “royal racists” has done little to salvage the relationship between Harry and Meghan and the Royal Family.

The couple are said to be worried that the revelations in Endgame have crushed their hopes of ever reconciling with King Charles and other senior members of the monarchy, including Harry’s brother Prince William.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Express, Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, University of London, said the Sussexes are concerned that the fallout from Endgame is reminding the Royal Family that Scobie is just a “mouthpiece” for Meghan.

The printing error in the Dutch version of Endgame, and the claims made in the book, could tarnish Harry and Meghan’s reputation, and leave the rest of the Royal Family to simply move on from this media frenzy without them.

Maclaran said that Harry and Meghan urged that they had not contributed to the book and were not supporting it. However, this might to be too little too late.

The book has only deepened the royal rift between Harry and Meghan and The Firm, as all parties continue to distance themselves from it and ignore the media fallout until it all blows over.
