She told GB News: “I think a lot of the backlash we saw around that time was also related to Harry and Meghan’s media pursuits.
“I think Harry and Meghan villanised the royal family. So you might be a little more up to grab a posterboard and go protest these people.
“You’re seeing on the news, you’re seeing on television and you’re reading in magazines that these people are racist in some way, according to Harry and Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview.
“So I do feel like, it’s a roller coaster, sometimes more people are going to turn up to protest you, sometimes people are going to have a bad attitude about you.”
But the US-based expert went on to add that the Waleses will not have the same reaction fr the public today, should they go on tour.
She claimed: “Would [the people] be gentler today? I think so. Do William and Catherine need to put themselves out there like that?
“I think it’s the King’s time to shine and the only reason we’d see William and Kate put themselves out there like that is if he needs back up.”
