Prince George, Charlotte and Louis steal the show at mum Kate's Christmas Carol Service

Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, stole the show this evening as they joined their parents for a Christmas Carol Concert at Westminster Abbey.

The three siblings looked delighted to be attending the annual event, which is spearheaded by mum Kate.

The service, supported by The Royal Foundation, will honour those who work to support babies, young children and families in communities across the UK.

Linked to Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, the service will showcase “the hope of new life and why it is so important to build supportive, nurturing worlds around children and the adults in their lives”.

New features this year include a Christmas post box located outside the abbey for children to send handmade Christmas cards and best wishes to other youngsters who might be struggling this festive season.

The service will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve at 7.45pm.

It will feature the Westminster Abbey choir who will perform popular carols, alongside musical performances by the likes of Jacob Collier, Freya Ridings and James Bay, and a special duet by Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert.

Readings will be given by speakers including the Prince of Wales, Micheal Ward, Emma Willis, Roman Kemp, and Jim Broadbent, while a specially commissioned poem written by Joseph Coelho, the Children’s Laureate, will be read by Leonie Elliott.

This year, Westminster Abbey will be filled with eco-friendly festive decorations, providing nodding to the theme of children and families.

Tonight’s event also features 12 young carers – the youngest of which is just 6 years old – from the Action for Children Young Carers Aloud choir who sing carols and Christmas songs upon the guests’ arrival.
