While heavy rain and flash floods are possible across the southern High Plains over the next few days, the northern Plains will see above-average temperatures throughout the region, the National Weather Service said.
Meanwhile, Texas will see lower temperatures Monday before ramping back up to near 80 degrees by the middle of the week, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Alyssa Smithmyer.

Heavy rain and possible flash floods in New Mexico, Texas areas
Northeast New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle could see possible flash floods after recent rain has “overly saturated ground conditions,” the weather service said.
The Storm Prediction Center indicates a “slight risk” for excessive rainfall from western Oklahoma to northeast New Mexico, including the Texas Panhandle, through Monday morning, the weather service said. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also expected throughout the High Plains, southern Plains, Rockies, and northern Great Basin.
“Some storms in these regions may also produce intense downpours and lead to localized flash flooding,” the weather service said.
