POLL: Who is the greatest leader in Europe?


Meanwhile in the UK, which is of course still in the continent of Europe despite being outside of the EU, Prime-Minister Rishi Sunak is facing internal Conservative Party struggles as his formery deputy party chairman Lee Anderson dramatically defected to Reform UK, as the incumbent PM continues to struggle in the polls.

North of the border in Scotland the SNP – led by Humza Yousaf – is also expected to lose a number of seats to Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party in the next general election.

With all that in mind, who do you think is the greatest current political leader in Europe? Elsewhere in Europe, tensions between major superpowers France and Germany have escalated after Emmanuel Macron appeared to insinuate that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was at risk of being a “coward” when it comes to the Ukraine war, with an expert going evern further – claiming that he has a “deep seated fear” of Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile Viktor Orban, the Hungarian PM, recently travelled to the US to meet assumed Presidential nominee Donald Trump, and on his return he revealed the former US President’s plan to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end.

While closer to home, Ireland Taoiseach Leo Varadkar suffered a humilating defeat in Saturday’s double referendum, with experts predicting that his political career may not recover after two-thirds of voters opted not to change the country’s constitution.
