Trooping the Colour is just days away, with the King, Queen Camilla, and other senior royals no doubt already preparing for the event. Set to take place on June 14, the event is one of the highlights in the royal calendar and takes place every year to mark the official birthday of the monarch, even though the King’s actual birthday is in November.
At the event,crowds can expect to see around 1,600 parading soldiers, 400 musicians and more than 200 horses. Members of the Royal Family take part in the occasion, with some on horseback, such as Princess Anne, and others in horse-drawn carriages.
After the parade, senior royals gather on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Red Arrows fly overhead, with crowds lining The Mall to catch a glimpse of the historic moment.
While the King, 76, may be at the heart of the celebrations, a number of other senior royals are expected to attend.
This includes Queen Camilla, 77, Princess Anne, 74, and Prince Edward, 61.
Other royals likely to be at the event include Duchess Sophie, 60, and the King’s eldest son Prince William, 42, who will likely attend with his wife Princess Kate, 43, along with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
However, it is unlikely that the King’s youngest son Prince Harry, 40, – who he is believed to not be on talking terms with at the moment – will attend, having quit royal life five years ago and moved to Montecito, California. But should he attend? Vote below or here.
