Police discover 'hand' on the side of major A-road

Police were called after a ‘hand’ was found dumped at the side of a major A-road.

Officers attended the A1198 through Cambridgeshire on Friday, January 19, after a passer-by made the possibly grim discovery.

However, all was not as it seemed, and the officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary soon found the hand was seemingly left by a prankster.

A force spokesman said: “We have to hand it to this prankster – it’s never too early for Halloween.

“Our response officers attended a report of a mysterious ‘hand’ on the A1198 yesterday.

“After a few prods and pokes, it turned out someone is missing a very life like prop. Hand seized and discarded with no need to go in the freezer.”

The unusual find prompted a string of amusing responses on the force social media page.

One commenter said: “You handled this job very well.”

While another added: “Round of applause for handling the job in such a professional manner. We are definitely in safe hands.”
