Piers Morgan, who has always been very vocal about his views on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, jibed at Prince Harry on X, sparking a huge debate. Taking to the social media platform today (Monday, September 15), Piers retweeted a post from ITV News that read: “Harry makes King ‘his priority’ as UK visit passes without a hitch.”
Former Good Morning Britain host Piers penned a savage swipe above the update, saying: “Translation: I need new material for my next book.” It comes after Prince Harry spent four days in the UK, where he laid a wreath at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s grave, attended a WellChild charity event and reunited with his father, King Charles III.
The 41-year-old father of two then headed off to Ukraine, and on the journey back from Kyiv, he responded to questions about his family during an interview with the Guardian.
During the chat, he didn’t express any regrets about what he wrote in his memoir, Spare, or in any Netflix appearances. However, he did speak about his conscience being clear and confirmed his 76-year-old father was his “main focus.”
Piers didn’t seem to buy that the Prince’s priority is rebuilding his relationship with the King, which sparked uproar in the comment section as his followers were divided.
One X user penned: “The title of book 2 is going to be, I Have No Regrets…How to Spoil A Good Thing.”
A second remarked: “Exactly. Also, apparently, he claims that his ‘conscience is clear’ when it comes to his behaviour towards his family, according to a report in @thetimes today. Entitled, narcissistic, and tacky, he revealed the amounts he donated to charity.”
Someone else raged: “It’s so obvious he will save it all up when the king passes away Harry will put another book out -guaranteed!”
Many people disagreed with Piers, with someone writing: “Give it a rest Piers. You kicking Harry has peaked. It’s starting to work against you now.”
Another added: “You had a lot to say about Harry, always milking him for the big headlines. You forgot that blood is thicker than water.”
