Piers Morgan claims Royal Family 'can't be trusted' with taking their own photos

Piers Morgan has urged the Royal Family to “stop taking their own photos for official release.” It comes after Princess Kate apologised for editing her Mother’s Day photo.

The Princess of Wales personally apologised last week after distributing an image on Mother’s Day. The photo shows Kate with her three children, but it was recalled by several major news agencies who said that it did not meet their editorial guidelines.

The photo was the first image to be released of Kate since her abdominal surgery in January 2024. The Princess of Wales had not been seen in public since Christmas Day at Sandringham.

What’s more, a famous photo of the late Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren has recently come under fire and a picture agency has claimed it has been “photoshopped”.

Piers Morgan has since waded in on the conversation tweeting in view of his 8.7 million X (Twitter) followers: “The Royals should stop taking their own photos for official release. They’ve shown they can’t be trusted not to manipulate them.”

Responding to her Mother’s Day photo, Princess Kate stated in a message shared on Instagram: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to royal duties until after the Easter period. She was recently spotted on her first public outing and appeared “happy and relaxed”.

Kate was seen with Prince William at a farm shop in Windsor. It has been reported that the pair spent the morning watching their children play sports.

A witness at the farm shop reportedly said: “After all the rumours that had been going round I was stunned to see them there. Kate was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well.

“The kids weren’t with them but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to still release a picture for Prince Louis’s sixth birthday next month, despite the recent photoshop backlash. It has been an annual tradition set by The Royal Family to release a heart-warming photograph making their son’s birthday.

Kensington Palace has been contacted for comment on this matter.
