'Petrified' Vladimir Putin's 'biggest mortal fear' that will 'probably lose his life'

Vladimir Putin’s “biggest mortal fear” has been revealed by a leading expert as pressure builds on the Russia president to crush Ukraine in the ongoing war.

Bill Browder, a political activist and author of Freezing Order: A True Story of Russian Money Laundering, Murder and Surviving Vladimir Putin’s Wrath, expressed a blunt critique of the president’s future as leader of Russia and his recent decisons in the Ukraine.

He told Times Radio: “There’s no question that if Ukrainians win the war, the Russians are going to say, ‘wait a second, who’s the loser here?’ Putin would be the weak loser here, and the Russian people won’t tolerate that.

“I would say that’s probably his mortal biggest fear, because to lose the war is to also lose his position, and probably his life.”

According to Browder, Putin’s power rests in his unflinching ability to sacrifice Russian lives to gain more authority.

Alexei Navalny, who had been a fervent critic of Putin and his regime, suspiciously died in Russian prison last week, prompting accusations against the regime that he was silenced.

World leaders such as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and American President Joe Biden have called out Putin as the person responsible for Navalny’s murder, urging for action.
