Pensioner faces hefty bill after influencers keep posing for selfies on his doorstep

A pensioner is facing a hefty repair bill as influencers keep snapping selfies on his doorstep. Peter Lee, 78, from London, has models showing up daily to take pictures of his iconic pink home in Kensington Place.

Pictures of Peter’s house are often posted on Instagram and have even racked up over 47,000 likes, according to MyLondon. Influencers frequently climb his stairs and sit right outside his front door or lean over his railings, he said.

The retired fashion designer isn’t bothered about the models taking photos, but he says the recent footfall has damaged his tiles and railings. Peter thinks fixing them in the correct style could cost hundreds of pounds.

He confessed: “It’s going to cost a few thousand [to fix]. People say I should put a notice outside.” He added: “It’s a daily occurrence and I often have to wait for them to vacate the doorstep.

“They are usually quite polite but occasionally I have girls look at me and they don’t move.”

Since January 2022, Peter has filmed several influencers posing on his property and he’s even seen models using tents to change outfits for the perfect shot outside Notting Hill’s colourful homes.

Footage from Peter’s Ring doorbell showed influencers in various outfits striking dramatic poses, with one model even throwing her legs in the air to get the perfect shot.

Large groups frequently gathered outside Peter’s house for more extensive photoshoots, with one group even clicking pictures of a reality TV star right at his doorstep.

Once, Peter found a bag of clothes, leftovers from a photoshoot, dumped on his doorstep – he passed them along to his granddaughter as a gift.

In just five minutes that the Local Democracy Reporting Service spent outside Peter’s house, four people halted to click pictures near his entrance.

Having lived in the area for 44 years, Peter said: “One time there was this really big group.”

He added: “They had changing tents outside. They had two tents there. They take it in turns to sit on the doorstep. They left their bags there and left- they never came back.”
