This is because both Meghan and Harry, 41, have caused some problems for the monarchy over the past five years, making damaging allegations against the Firm and sharing private information publicly either through interviews, on Netflix or in Harry’s 2023 memoir.
Tom Sykes, editor for The Daily Beast, said he was told by a former Palace courtier: “If they (Harry and Meghan) really plan to spend more time here it changes everything. It puts them back in the frame, and that’s not what anyone expected.”
While Meghan returned to Paris at the weekend, she is yet to visit the UK since her last appearance in her husband’s home country in 2022.
Although Harry has returned to the UK many times since the couple relocated to California five years ago, his wife rarely joins him on such trips.
Instead, she opts to stay at the couple’s Montecito home with their two children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
It is not known when Harry or Meghan will next visit the UK, however it is believed that the prince is keen to bring his children to his home country despite his initial concerns about their safety.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet haven’t visited the UK since 2022 and are believed to have seen very little of their royal relatives.
