On 'The Golden Bachelor' contestants will compete for 71-year-old Gerry Turner's heart


It’s never too late to find love. At least that’s the theory producers of ABC’s ‘The Bachelor’ franchise are running with for their newest spinoff of the reality dating series “The Golden Bachelor.” The show, which has been in the works for a number of years, nominates one lucky gent to find a late-in-life love.

The reality dating masterminds at Warner Bros. and ABC are betting big on reality television viewers’ appetite for a different kind of love story: one steeped in experience, and presumably less driven by the “sexy young thing” aesthetics that drive “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.”
