Olivia Munn praises Princess Kate as she faces own cancer battle as Hollywood 'sends love'

Olivia Munn led a string of Hollywood A-listers in sharing support and well wishes with the Princess of Wales following the announcement of her devastating cancer diagnosis.

The 43-year-old actress wrote under Princess Kate’s Instagram video: “Thank you for showing what it’s like to fight with grace and determination for yourself and for your family.

“Wishing you all the best.”

Her show of support comes barely a week after The Predator star revealed her own heartbreaking cancer journey, sharing the news with her loyal fanbase for the first time months after being diagnosis.

She explained in an emotional and lengthy post that she had “high-fived” her sister telephonically last February when they both took a genetic test for cancer genes and both came up completely negative.

However, her OBGYN opted to do one further test to measure Olivia’s Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score which led to an MRI, a biopsy and four further surgeries after it was discovered that she had “an aggressive, fast-moving cancer” in both breasts.

The actress, who welcomed her first child with husband John Mulaney in 2021, was remarkably candid about the emotional journey, writing: “Surprisingly, I’ve only cried twice. I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry.”

One heartbreaking clip showed The Newsroom star crying in her hospital bed seemingly before her double mastectomy as her doctor reassured her, pointing to a photo of her son that John had placed by her bedside saying: “Do it for him, do it for your baby. This stuff doesn’t matter.”

Olivia also explained to fans that she had kept the news under wraps despite making countless public appearances since her diagnosis as she only “let people see me when I have energy” and “needed to catch my breath and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing”.

Many fans have shared their sympathies with Princess Kate after the intense public speculation on the royal’s whereabouts allegedly led to her making her diagnosis public less than two months after undergoing surgery.

Hollywood stars have rallied behind the Princess of Wales just like they did after Olivia’s announcement, as Gwyneth Paltrow led tributes declaring Kate “a pillar of grace and strength” and said she’s “sending love”.

21 Jump Street star Holly Robinson Peete wrote on X: “Get well soon, Kate. I’m so glad she finally shared her story,” while Today host Hoda Kotb shared her own “prayers up for Princess Kate.”

Real Housewives of Miami star and breast cancer survivor Guerdy Abraira urged others to “#getchecked” as she sympathised with the “devastating news”.
