Nina Warhurst addresses 'chemistry' with BBC co-star after calls to replace Naga Munchetty

BBC Breakfast returned today with presenters Nina Warhurst and Roger Johnson at the helm talking all things hitting the headlines, much to the delight of viewers. As the show unfolded, fans took the opportunity to praise the pair’s “chemistry” which prompted the presenters to respond.

Taking to the platform X, one fan wrote: “TV Presenting partnerships are all about chemistry. Together, @RogerJ_01 and @NinaWarhurst are the absolute nuts.” In response, Nina, 43, shared various emojis to show her appreciation, while Roger, 55, also wrote: “Thanks Adam.”

After Nina shared the post, many more were quick to compliment the pair as another added: “Good to see the top team together on the sofa.” A third typed: “Anything with @NinaWarhurst on is definitely worth watching.”

“Nina rocks,” another added, while a fourth suggested she should replace Naga Munchetty, who fronts on the show on a more regular basis, alongside the likes of Charlie Stayt, Jon Kay and Sally Nugent.

Naga recently shared how she’s had to change some of her outfits due to viewers complaining about migraines. While a guest on Room 101 with Paul Merton, the presenter was asked if she faced pressure as a female presenter and when it comes to choosing what to wear.

She explained: “There’s only one time I’ve taken it on board and never worn an outfit again. One and a half.

“The first time, I wore this dress on breakfast and it had a geometric print and two people said it was causing them migraines, so I said, ‘absolutely fine, I won’t wear that again’.”

Naga went on to say she had also ditched a “brilliant” black dress emblazoned with eyes as two people had complained.

She continued: “I still have it, this was about ten to twelve years ago and it was black and had all these eyes on it.

“Two people emailed in saying it was scaring them and giving the nightmares. So that one I have worn since but I haven’t worn it much.”

Naga presents the show from Thursday to Saturday while also juggling her work commitments on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Following a brief break away from the programme earlier this year, Nina and Rachel Burden stepped into her shoes which sparked a mixed reaction.

At the time, one wrote: “@BBCBreakfast can we have Nina on more often please.”

A second commented: “Nina is such a breath of fresh air against Naga Munchetty, she should replace her permanently..#BBCBreakfast.”

However a third typed: “No Naga? Not watching this rubbish.”

Another praised the missing host for being good at taking “no rubbish” when it comes to interviewing and called for her to return.

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One from 6am.
