Nigel Farage rips apart every one of Rishi Sunak’s achievements: ‘It didn’t impress me!’

Nigel Farage has mocked the list of achievements Rishi Sunak proudly presented in his new year message, with the GB News presenter declaring: “It didn’t impress me.”

In his video to mark the start of 2024, the Prime Minister hailed how his government was pumping record funding into the NHS, cutting inflation, growing the economy, and improving school standards.

“We can look back on a pretty momentous year,” said Mr Sunak in his address from Downing Street, as he also claimed to have “delivered the biggest business tax cut in modern British history”.

National Insurance is being cut from the start of this year in what the Conservatives say will give an important boost to families during the cost of living crisis.

The Prime Minister said his resolution for the new year is to “keep driving forward”, as he promised to “go further to grow the economy by reducing taxes, cutting debt and rewarding hard work”.

But on his regular GB News show, Mr Farage scorned the Prime Minister’s achievements.

While he said it was true that inflation was falling, the former UKIP and Brexit Party leader said the money for the NHS meant little while waiting lists were still at eight million.

And he could not hide his contempt for Mr Sunak’s claim that “schools in England are surging up the global league tables”, instead saying that the country has “marked time” since 2018.

On the Tory leader’s claims that the economy is growing, Mr Farage said: “Really? It’s barely grown at all over the course of the past six months.”

He also dismissed the National Insurance cut, given that corporation tax has risen and the tax burden has soared to the highest level for 70 years.

Mr Farage finished by saying: “I am absolutely sick to death of hearing this sophistry, sick to death of how disingenuous it seems the Prime Minister and all his ministers are.

“They present us with spin, with things that simply are not true.”

After his success as a contestant on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, there are rumours that Mr Farage could be plotting a political comeback to take on the Conservatives at the next general election.
