Nigel Farage brands Joe Biden 'anti-British' and 'unfit' for office in angry Brexit swipe

Joe Biden has been branded an “old duffer” and labeled “completely unfit” for office by Nigel Farage after the president dashed hopes of striking a post-Brexit trade deal with the UK.

UK-US trade talks, which were set to start in October, were reportedly abandoned after Biden caved to opposition from Democratic senators, according to Politico.

The President came under a scathing attack from Mr Farage, who blasted the Democrat as “pretty anti-British” for ditching these negotiations.

The TV presenter said on GB News: “With every week that goes by, it becomes clearer that Joe Biden is completely unfit to be president of the United States and leader of the free world.

“I called him an old duffer from the day he was elected but it gets worse and worse and he gets more and more embarrassing.”

British officials had long been scrambling to strike up a so-called “foundational trade partnership” with the US.

But those close to discussions have admitted that a deal was always going to be tough to finalize.

Washington reportedly wanted greater access to Britain’s agricultural products. Mr Farage acknowledged that this was always going to be a “difficult” area to agree on.

A spokesperson for one Democrat Senator Ron Wyden told Politico that US-UK trade talks “should be driven by substance”, adding that nothing should be agreed upon until something “that benefits Americans is achievable”.

A British government spokesperson said: “The UK and US are rapidly expanding cooperation on a range of vital economic and trade issues building on the Atlantic declaration announced earlier this year.”

But Mr Farage believes this is unlikely to happen under Biden.

It comes as the current leader’s approval ratings sink to historic lows in the polls.
