Nicola Bulley diver Peter Faulding's offer to distressed family of missing mum Gaynor Lord

Nicola Bulley diver Peter Faulding has offered his expert team’s help free of charge in the hunt to find missing mum Gaynor Lord.

Forensic diving expert Mr Faulding, 61, has said that he and his team are willing to help efforts by divers to find clues and bring a result for the distressed family as soon as possible.

His offer comes as scuba divers have been spotted searching for missing mum-of-three, 55, who has now been missing for six days, as investigators continue to scour the River Wensum in Norwich for clues.

My Faulding, from Dorking, Surrey, says that although he’s not currently involved with the case he’s willing to pitch in and provide the use of the sonar equipment he helped to pioneer which he says is the best in the country.

He said: “I’m not involved and actually know nothing about the search whatsoever but I am happy to assist the family if asked.

“If we were asked we would happily assist the family free of charge. They have got their own search teams there. We can image up to 10 miles of river and we have got the most experienced sonar team and the best equipment in the country.”

Mr Faulding said that using the equipment it’s “easy to see” things that are on the bed of the river and if something is spotted he would “put a diver in to confirm” what they’d seen.

He said: “You can actually see rocks and sticks at the bottom of the river it’s that clear.” Mr Faulding is the CEO of underwater search experts Specialist Group International (SGI).

He said: “The more hands on deck the better to bring a result to the family. The more experience you have got the better and hopefully she can be found alive.”

An eyewitness claims to have seen the missing woman from Norwich, Norfolk, moments before she vanished.

Rosie Richards told MailOnline that she “performed a yoga pose” after placing her coat on the ground near the River Wensum, which runs through the city’s Wensum Park.

But Ms Richards said that although the 55-year-old appeared “calm” – something about her behaviour seemed a “bit off” because it was starting to get dark around that time. Her belongings have since been found nearby the area where she claims to have spotted her.

Mr Faulding was one of the divers who went into the River Wyre in the hunt for missing woman Nicola Bulley who was found dead after drowning.

He told media that he believed Nicola was not in the River Wyre after she went missing near there on January 27 – and it resulted in criticism from police.

On February 19 Bulley’s body was found in the river by a man and a woman walking in the area downstream of St Michael’s on Wyre and the inquest determined that Bulley’s death was due to accidental drowning.
