An explosion at a nickel-processing plant in Indonesia has reportedly killed 12 people with dozens more injured.
Officials at the PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park say 39 people suffered a mixture of minor and serious injuries in the blast.
The incident was first reported at around 5.40am GMT.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
Dedy Kurniawan, spokesman for the PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park, which runs the complex where the plant operates, told the AFP: “The current number of victims is 51 people. 12 people died in the incident. There are 39 people with minor and serious injuries.”
