Prince Harry is “more relaxed” without his wife Meghan Markle by his side, an expert has said. The Duke of Sussex, 40, has landed in the UK today for a series of engagements, beginning with the 2025 Wellchild Awards tonight.
The prince, who last visited the UK in April, disembarked from a plane at Heathrow Airport without Meghan, 44, by his side. He then went to Windsor, where he visited Queen Elizabeth II’s grave at St George’s Chapel three years on from her death. While Harry is expected to be in the UK for four days, it is believed the duchess has opted to remain at the couple’s Montecito home with their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.
However, this may be a good thing for the prince, with one expert claiming he is “more chilled” when he steps out alone.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton told the Express: “Harry was always going to have some nerves for his arrival as he knows the whole world is watching him.
“But he’s here for his passion. He’s so passionate about his charity work, just as his mum was. For him it’s not about the fame and the limelight, it’s about doing good and using his profile and his power.
“When he travels alone he’s so much more relaxed, we see a more chilled version of Harry.”
Mr Stanton continued: “His body language can sometimes seem a bit disjointed, but from these early shots he seems relaxed. His shoulders are down, there aren’t any signs of nerves from a facial perspective.”
Harry is set to step out at The Wellchild Awards ceremony within hours.
As patron of the charity, the duke will give a speech at the event, which aims to celebrate the inspirational qualities of the UK’s seriously ill children and young people, as well as those who support them.
The duke has been present at the event many times over the years.
