Neighbour hailed a hero for brutal revenge on couple next door in parking row

A neighbour has been hailed a hero after getting revenge on the couple living next door after a firey row over parking. Parking wars can be maddening, turning otherwise rational people red-faced and turning relations frosty between neighbours. One such incident has been shared online sparking a fierce response.

A mother has taken to Reddit to share her ordeal and the solution that helped her to get one up on her frustrating neighbour. Writing a list of reasons why her neighbour’s behaviour was unacceptable on social media, she said: “First, I completely understand that I don’t ‘own’ the road in front of my house and that parking there is perfectly legal but hear me out.

“There is space in front of their house to park. They have a 2 car garage and 2 car driveway (space to park 4 cars) but choose not to use their garage to park cars.

“There is very little space for visitors to park, but is usually spots available on the other side of the road, down a bit. This is my only street frontage and the only spot I can put my bin on pickup day.”

She added: “I don’t understand why she keeps doing this. My bedroom is at the front of the house so I am constantly being woken up be slamming doors and her loud driving music, as is my husband who works night shift. Speaking to her is not an option. We have had a previous run in with this neighbour when they threatened to kill our cat.”

She took to the social media platform to seek advice from fellow users, and she was not disappointed. One cunning person wrote: “Have your guests park in their driveway. When they complain, casually point out that they are hogging the little parking space that you have, and the guests have no where else to park.”

Another added: “Put some big rocks there or a pile of gravel. Doesn’t block trash truck and if the neighbor gets chafed, just say you’re preparing for a landscaping project next fall/winter/keep pushing it back.”

However, not everyone was as understanding, saying that the mother should simply park her own vehicle in the space thereby preventing her neighbour from using it. The Reddit user said: “I’d park my OWN car there.”

Instead of replying to each responder, the mother revealed how she has tried to overcome the problem. Rather than employing commenters’ creative suggestions, the woman used a far simpler tactic.

She wrote: “My son has agreed to take one for the team and park his car out there for a while. He prefers to put it in the driveway or garage, but his car is the least expensive so his is the one that’s going out there. Thanks for all your suggestions. We will try the least nasty option first and go from there.”
