Ageing is a natural part of life and there is no harm in doing so gracefully, but you could be adding years onto your appearance by forgetting skincare or hair care, according to one TikTok creator. The 43-year-old mum from the US revealed that she is able to make herself appear as a “27-year-old” in around one hour, thanks to a keen focus on skincare, plus being “really good” at make-up and doing her hair.
In a video, Ally, who posts to her TikTok page @anonymousally198, explained how she follows contemporary trends and re-creates them for a natural, youthful look.
The content creator described her video as: “How to glow up and look younger In one hour with hair extension, a waving iron and a full face of makeup.”
She added “Get ready with me to pretend that I am a 27-year-old…when I am really a 43-year-old stay-at-home mom who is just really good at hair, make-up and skincare.”
Though Ally has short hair, she opts for budget-friendly clip-in hair extensions which she tones to match her hair using a toning shampoo.
There are different shades of toning shampoo available, but they all help to neutralise unwanted, brassy tones and create a more natural blonde shade in your hair.
“Then I fill in my hairline with eyeshadow and wave everything cohesive so it all matches up with the wave pattern. People who know me know I do have curly hair but it’s so damaged it doesn’t hold a curl right now didn’t know that these were clip-in.”
The eyeshadow trick helps to create the appearance of full-looking hair and is especially useful for those with thinning hair around the front.
