M&S shoppers in hysterics at new advert suggesting what 'Sunday uniform' is

Customers have been left in hysterics at an advert from M&S suggesting “Sunday uniform” consists of a pair of bikini knickers and a midriff-bearing shoulderless top.

For most of us, getting dressed on a Sunday morning consists of finding the comfiest outfit possible while trying to banish all thoughts of Monday.

But M&S has suggested otherwise, instead sharing an advert on Facebook suggesting their go-to Sunday look would involve wearing underwear around the house, reports the Mirror.

For most of us, this rather racy ensemble doesn’t scream practicality, with many opting for a casual Sunday walk or having friends and family around for Sunday lunch.

In a post that has since clocked up hundreds of laughing emoji reactions, M&S shared a snap of a scantily clad model, bare skin gently dappled with sunlight. Captioned “Sunday uniform”, the store directed viewers to a pair of ribbed bikini knickers with pretty lace detail.

Thoroughly tickled by the ad, one surprised customer commented: “Yes, I always dress like this on a Sunday. It’s perfect for walking the dog, and with all this rain we’ve had recently, I dry off so much quicker with less clothing on.”

Another quipped: “My son came to visit me. I wore my new Sunday uniform. He left after three minutes. Still wondering why. Thoughts?”

Leaving fellow shoppers in hysterics, a third amused individual wrote: “I’m surprised at the negativity in the comments. As a 39-year-old woman, this is exactly what my Sunday morning outfit looks like when I’ve gone to bed too drunk to put my pyjamas on, had a hot flush in the middle of the night, and got my going-out top tangled around my armpits.”
