Most popular first dance songs for British newlyweds in 2023 named


Choosing the best song to enjoy this momentous romantic moment is no easy feat, especially with so many beautiful renditions to pick from.

Yet, there are a few pieces of music that Britons have fallen in love with that played at their wedding.

Bringing together 2,300 song choices from newlyweds, Encore Musicians – a wedding music booking platform – has found out the most popular requests for 2023.

Topping the list of requests is Ed Sheeran’s song Perfect, which was released back in 2017.

A staggering 16 percent of newlyweds in 2023 had Ed Sheeran’s Perfect play as they enjoyed their first dance.

Following very closely behind Ed’s Sheeran’s Perfect was John Legend’s All Of Me, which was originally released in 2013.

Penned for his beloved wife, Chrissy Tiegan, John Legend’s All Of Me was requested by 15 percent of newlyweds in 2023 for their first dance.

And, securing the third spot was Elvis Presley’s iconic Can’t Help Falling In Love.

Recorded for The King of Rock and Roll’s Blue Hawaii album, the amorous ballad was released in 1961 and has been a big hit ever since.

Making his way back into the wedding scene in fourth place is Ed Sheeran.

This time, 235 couples requested Ed Sheeran’s Grammy-nominated hit Thinking Out Loud as their first dance song.

Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours claims the fifth spot, which was requested by 199 couples in 2023.

Then Adele’s Make You Feel My Love ranked sixth place with 185 lovebirds wanting her song to be their first dance.

Making it in the top 10 most requested first dance songs in 2023 is the 1978 chart topper September by Earth, Wind and Fire.

Closely followed by Etta James’ timeless classic At Last, with 166 couples choosing to have the songstress lead them into an embrace on the dancefloor.

Just making it in the top 10 most chosen first dance songs are Marry You by Bruno Mars and Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder.
