Moment Russian tank vaporised by Ukrainian kamazazie drone amid heavy fighting

Suddenly, a drone closes in on the tank from above before striking with great effect.

The footage shows the tank instantly exploding into flames before being left in pieces on the road.

While Ukraine has struck a number of blows to Russia’s invasion effort, Moscow’s airstrikes across the country are also wreaking havoc.

Avdiivka was hit by 250 Russian aerial bombs in just the first two weeks of 2024, Governor Vadim Filashkin claimed on Monday.

This is almost double the 146 air strikes in Avdiivka across the whole of 2023.

Avdiivka is located about 10 kilometres away from the centre of Donetsk, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014.

Ukraine also claimed on Monday that it show down a Russian spy plane over the Sea of Azov.

Kyiv’s military chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi said his air force “destroyed” an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft.

He added on Telegram that Ukraine’s air force had “excellently planned and conducted” an operation in the Azov region, south-east of Ukraine.

Speaking to the BBC, expert Justin Bronk said the loss of the A-50 for Russia, if confirmed, would be a “highly operationally significant and embarrassing loss.”

He added that the A-50 is a “key command, control and surveillance platform” that provides Russian aircraft and surface-to-air missile systems with “long-range early warning and target information about Ukrainian low-flying aircraft”.
