Michelle Keegan's 'perfect body' is down to her simple 45-minute exercise regime

First emerging in the limelight as fresh-faced Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street at the age of 20, now sixteen years later, Michelle Keegan is still rocking a slender physique.

Prior to the Covid pandemic, Michelle confessed she would feel guilty if she overindulged.

“It was always the guilt for me,” Michelle said; if she had a “bad” week, she would convince herself that she needed to go to the gym.

“[It’s] why I would be in the gym for two hours,” Michelle revealed, adding that she would believe she would need to “work it off”.

When the Covid pandemic shut down all the gyms around the world, Michelle found a new way to work out.

Her husband, Mark, set up a fitness app with his brother so that people could work out from home.

“I could hear him setting up live outside,” Michelle told the MailOnline. “And I thought, ‘I’ve literally got no excuse.”

Hearing her husband do a workout outside in the garden prompted Michelle to get her “gym mat on the floor” and do 30 minutes of a HIIT workout.

“It just set me up for the day,” said Michelle. “[It] made me feel a lot more positive with what was going on at that time.”

Nowadays, Michelle has done away with feelings of guilt, setting herself a target to “only spend 45 minutes in the gym” at most.

“I think it’s important to do everything in moderation,” Michelle explained.

“If I really, really don’t want to go to the gym, I don’t go. I just don’t punish myself; it’s not my life to go the gym.”

Michelle added: “If I can go to the gym I will, if I can’t, I can’t. If I can go four or five times a week, great. If I can only go twice, or once, at least I’ve been.”

Hubby Mark once said Michelle has the “perfect body”, and her physique has largely remained the same.

While Michelle might not be forcing herself to the gym anymore if she has a “bad” week, she still keeps active.

“I’ve taken up cycling on a proper road bike,” she revealed. “We go out three times a week and do 11 miles!”

Michelle has transformed her exercise regime from a gym bunny to an adventurer, out on the road bike.
