Mice will run away from your home if you use 1 kitchen item

Our homes have everything pests look for – food, warm, and shelter, and with temperatures rising a number of them, including mice, will come out of hiding, attempting to force their way into properties and make themselves at home. Spring marks the breeding season for the rodenants and in the summer their acitivity tends involve them roaming around outdoors more, targetting things such as grains, fruits, and seeds.

However, they can still be found in homes, as it the perfect place for them to cool down during the warmer weather. Therefore, taking measures to stop them from getting comfortable in your home is the most important thing you can do now, as once they get in, it can be a big challenge to get them out.

Pest control services can cost up to hundreds, and so to save yourself both the hassle and money you can try out this one hack that will send mice packing.

Pest control experts have revealed that mice have a “sensory averison to aluminum foil”. They hate the shiny texture, appearance of foil and do not want to walk on it because of the crinkling noise it can create.

Additionally, although mice tend to chew through a lot of material, foil seems to be an exception and therefore, according to House Digest, the kitchen staple is something that can be used to deter mice from your properties.

To make use of foil as a pest control method, simply place it around the entry points of your home. As foil is malleable enough to put in small spots, you should consider placing it in areas where mice might climb to gain acess, including outdoor furniture, gutters and pipes.

Aluminium foil can also be used to protect your plants by hanging small pieces in taller plants and bushes, or crumbling some sheets and mixing them into your mulch. This will also keep smaller pests away from them.

And just like that, all you needed to keep mice far away from your home was something you most likely had already. This cost effective, and efficent hack will save your pockets and time, while ensuring your house remains mouse-free.
