While legendary Mexican goalkeeper Memo Ochoa wasn’t in his team’s starting 11 for their World Cup opening game against South Africa, his wife, Karla Mora, is still drawing attention.
Mora does a great job of staying active on social media while her husband’s on the pitch. And she proved this with a post to her Instagram Story on June 11, showing her rocking Mexico’s green jersey while watching the team compete at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City.
It appears that Mora is posing alongside Mexican content creator and influencer Raúl Álvarez, who is based in Mexico City and is rooting the country on with Mora.
Ochoa and Mora got married in Ibiza, Spain, in 2017, and have three children. Their first child is a daughter named Lucciana, who was born in 2013. Guillermo was born two years later, and their third child, Karla, was born in 2019.
Ochoa will always be a Mexican soccer legend after the 2014 World Cup. He conceded just one goal throughout the group stage, which was a key reason Mexico advanced to the knockout round.
He continued this hot streak by giving up zero goals in regular time to the Netherlands, making several spectacular saves. While the Netherlands scored via a penalty kick in extra time that led to Mexico’s defeat, Ochoa’s performance was still seen as legendary by his home country.
Ochoa is now 40 years old and is past his prime, which is why he isn’t starting for Mexico any longer. But he maintains a leadership role on the team. And his wife, Karla, still looks to be in form.
