Meghan Markle’s Suits costar warned actress about royals ‘before she became Duchess’

Meghan Markle’s former Hollywood colleague, Wendell Pierce, reflected on the actress’ final days on-set before leaving Suits in 2017 to get engaged to Prince Harry.

The Hollywood stars had garnered a close relationship over their five years together portraying the father-daughter duo Robert and Rachel Zane on the show.

Speaking to E! News, the 60-year-old revealed he had truly taken on a father-figure role in Meghan’s life as he left her with some parting wisdom.

He recalled pulling her aside on her last day on set, which coincidentally happened to be filming the wedding scene where her character marries Mike Ross, played by Patrick J Adams who also left the show at the same time as Meghan.

Wendell claimed he warned the actress about joining Prince Harry’s royal circle saying: “Meghan, your life is going to be a whirlwind. You’re going to be in this bubble.”

After the stern words of warning, Wendell assured his on-screen daughter that he hoped to always be counted among her friends.

The Wire star admitted he’s incredibly grateful he had the opportunity to speak to her so candidly before “becoming the Duchess”.

Wendell did not appear at the royal wedding a year after Meghan’s Suits send-off but has been able to reunite with his former colleague since she and Harry moved to the US after stepping back from royal duties.

They met up at a “public function” where Meghan was honored with an award, but the Elsbeth star was more excited to reconnect with her in a more private setting.
