Meghan Markle's subtle hand gesture shows true feelings for Prince Harry, expert claims

A body language expert has laid bare Meghan Markle’s gestures towards Prince Harry as the pair stepped out in Jamaica – explaining what they mean. Judi James, who regularly analyses the hidden meaning behind the actions of the Royal Family, said the pair’s latest public engagement, at the Bob Marley film premiere, One Love, showed a “loving affection” between them both.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were last week pictured at the Carib Theatre in Kingston – and it is here where Ms James has analysed the way they interconnect with each other.

The giveaway gesture which showed their bond was the way in which they held hands, she told MailOnline. She said they used a cupped hand method which indicated such unity.

She added that Meghan’s gestures gave off a “proud ownership” vibe, giving off a “he’s mine” message with her “affectionate gestures.”

She told MailOnline: “It’s careful and elegant-looking rather than a more spontaneous hugging gesture, meaning it seems to be aimed at defining them as an ongoing power couple as well as a romantic couple.”

The Duke of Sussex, 39, also appeared to lead off Meghan’s cues and was quite happy to let Meghan “lead the greetings,” it was reported.

Ms James continued that Meghan’s red carpet appearance looked “very Hollywood”, with a “choreography that is pitch perfect”. Rubbing shoulders with other famous faces, the pair had pictures taken with the likes of Brian Robbins, the CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon and his wife Tracy James.

As the pair waltzed on, Ms James spoke about one key moment when Meghan appeared to really take the lead when it came to greetings.

She added: “Greeting what looks like their host it’s Meghan moving in for a very affectionate cheek-kiss before she stands back and places a hand on Harry’s back to usher him forward for his own greeting ritual, which seems to give her the edge in terms of confidence and leading.”

Maybe unaware of doing so, Ms James also noted a “rather sweet moment” when Meghan brushed her hand down her black dress, with Harry mirroring the exact same gesture with his own outfit.

In her interview with the Mail, she added: “When they pose together for the cameras though there is a telling gesture from Meghan. As Harry stands smiling in the line-up, Meghan stands with her torso turned in his direction but her head and eyes turned to the cameras.”

“His arm is around her back and her hand is carefully placed on his torso, flattened and with fingers pointing upward,” she added.

King Charles is currently the head of state of Jamaica, but for how much longer remains unknown as the country is in the process of going its own way from the British monarchy.

Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior working royals back in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California, with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The pair appeared at the Jamaican premiere this week as Princess Kate began her recovery from planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in Marylebone. King Charles underwent a successful “corrective” procedure for an enlarged prostate on Friday – and has now started his recovery after an overnight admission.
