Meghan Markle's memoir would only have 'short-term success' and just 'strain' royal ties

Meghan Markle’s memoir would only have “short-term success” and only serve to “fan the flames of negative sentiment” towards her, a PR expert has warned.

Speculation has been swirling in recent weeks that the Duchess of Sussex could follow husband Prince Harry by releasing her own book.

But PR expert Ryan McCormick has expressed doubts about its long-term success.

He told The Mirror: “Would another book by Meghan revealing new tales from Buckingham Palace be successful? I think it will be in the short term.

“However, in the long term, I can see it fanning the flames of negative sentiment towards Meghan.”

“Will the Duchess of Sussex’s book about female empowerment take off? If she devotes each chapter to a different trailblazing woman and includes terrific wisdom and inspirational quotes – sure,” he commented.

He added: “Markle would get bonus points if she devoted a chapter to Kate Middleton. However, if the new book is just about Meghan and her personal reflections about success, I think it’ll under perform.”
