Meghan Markle’s “narcissistic” Netflix show has officially flopped according to the latest rankings, and the lucrative deal is now kissing the Sussexes goodbye. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex struck a lucrative deal, reportedly worth around £80million, with the streaming giant shortly after they quit their royal duties in 2020.

Harry and Meghan produced a total of five shows but most of them, apart from their bombshell eponymous docuseries in 2022, failed to attract interest. Meghan’s cookery show, With Love, Meghan, was the last attempt to boost the Sussexes’ views on the streaming giant.

But the latest rankings showed it flopped and failed to gain views.

And now reports have claimed that Netflix bosses won’t be renewing Harry and Meghan’s contract when it ends in September.

Despite the initial hype, With Love, Meghan gathered a total of 5.3million views and ranked 383rd on Netflix’s most-watched global list for the first half of the year.

When it was released back in March, the lifestyle series was mostly savaged by critics. The Telegraph gave it just two starts and branded it “insane” and an “exercise in narcissism, filled with extravagant brunches, celebrity pals and business plugs”.

Meanwhile, the Guardian’s review was equally brutal, as it read: The Kiss, the Netflix deal goodbye! With Love, Meghan is so pointless it might be the Sussexes’ last TV show.”

It added that the show was about “a woman filling children’s party bags with seeds and manuka honey” and “the sort of gormless lifestyle filler that, had it been made by the BBC, would be used to bulk out episodes of Saturday Kitchen”.

A Netflix source told The Sun about the Duchess’s latest flop: “She had everything going for her — name, platform, press — and the numbers were dismal.”

Another source said the Netflix contract with the Sussexes is “dead,” adding: “They’re just waiting for the credits to roll. They’re letting it expire without drama. There’s no appetite for anything new.”

Neither Netflix nor the Sussexes have commented on the latest claims.
