Meghan Markle’s ‘extreme unpopularity’ in Britain throws any future UK visit in doubt

Meghan Markle’s “extreme unpopularity” in Britain throws any future UK visit in doubt, a royal expert has said.

The Duchess of Sussex has been tipped to visit the UK next month, a trip alongside Prince Harry that will see the pair celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Although Harry is expected, Meghan’s appearance remains unknown – with her name being marked with ‘TBC’ [to be confirmed] on the list of guests.

With the visit just a few weeks away, a new poll by YouGov has revealed that the pair – especially the Duchess of Sussex – continue to be “extremely unpopular” in Britain.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that this may affect whether Meghan returns next month.

He said: “A new YouGov poll has confirmed that both of them, especially Meghan, are extremely unpopular in Britain. It will therefore be no surprise if she does not as she has not visited Britain since Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral.”

The poll, which was conducted earlier this month, shows that the younger generation tends to have a “negative view” of the Royal Family as a whole.
