Meghan Markle 'won't be pleased' after her father's unexpected message to King Charles

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, PR expert Ryan McCormick said: “I would imagine that Meghan would not be pleased at her father making a public gesture of well wishes to Charles. This doesn’t make the Duchess of Sussex look good and it re-hashes Markle’s dirty laundry pertaining to family affairs.”

Meghan’s relationship with her father was strained after Thomas staged paparazzi photos before the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.

He then released a private letter from Meghan to the media before agreeing to multiple interviews talking about the relationship.

In 2020, Thomas made a documentary called ‘Thomas Markle: My Story’, in which he was extremely critical of his daughter.

King Charles walked Meghan down the aisle at her wedding, not Thomas.

Harry’s relationship with his father is also strained following the Sussexes’ acrimonious exit from royal life in 2020.

However, the Duke traveled to the UK this week to see his father following the news of his cancer diagnosis.

However, Harry did not see his estranged brother, Prince William, during his short visit to the UK.

William has returned to public duties for the first time since his wife, Kate, was admitted to a London hospital on January 16 for abdominal surgery.

She spent nearly two weeks at a private hospital in London.

William handed out medals to notables and local heroes at a Windsor Castle ceremony in the morning and was due to attend a charity dinner on Wednesday evening for London’s air ambulance service.
