Meghan Markle 'wears the trousers and will decide when she and Prince Harry come back to U

Meghan Markle will decide when she and Prince Harry return to the UK because she “wears the trousers”, a royal expert has revealed.

It comes as the pair look likely to attend a 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games in London in May, with former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond saying the pair will be worried about returning to British soil.

She said Harry would not want to put pressure on Meghan and that she made the majority of key decisions in the relationship.

Bond told OK!: “I very much doubt that Harry would ever put pressure on Meghan to do anything she doesn’t want to – especially coming to the UK when he himself has said he doesn’t feel his wife and children are safe here without an enhanced level of security, which has so recently been denied as an automatic right.

“Meghan is probably the one who wears the trousers in this relationship, and Harry, who adores her, would never want to compromise the happiness of their marriage by asking her to do something she is reluctant about.”

The ex-BBC expert said Harry would be concerned about the reaction to Meghan from the British public should the group return.

She added: “I think that both of them would be nervous about the reception that Meghan would get in the UK. I think there is still residual affection for Harry, but I really don’t think the same can be said for his wife.

“However, the Invictus Games, are something both feel very passionate about, so it could be that Meghan will decide off her own bat to make a brief return to the UK.”

The Duchess of Sussex was last in Britain in September 2022 on charity visits with Harry which coincided with the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

‌It comes despite royal commentator Tom Quinn telling the Mirror, the Duke of Sussex was “putting pressure” on his wife to come.‌

He said: “The Invictus Games – it’s one of the few areas of Harry‘s life where he feels on firm ground.

“There’s no doubt that helping disabled soldiers is a good thing and it’s something that Harry has tried to do without it becoming all about him, so it’s good for brand Sussex but only if Meghan is also there. So he is definitely putting pressure on her to join him.

“This is causing huge tension in the couple’s relationship. Omid Scobie’s book Endgame tells us that Meghan never wants to visit the UK again, but she now realises with the games coming up and her father-in-law seriously ill that you should never say never.”
