Meghan Markle was humiliated by Andy Cohen's four-word comment on podcast

Meghan Markle revealed she was a “huge fan” of Andy Cohen’s Real Housewives television empire when the Bravo legend joined her since defunct Spotify podcast Archetypes.

The 41-year-old recalled meeting the Hollywood star not once but several times, however, Andy didn’t have any memory of the encounters as the pair suffered through an awkward realisation.

As Andy sat down for their chat, he mentioned it was “nice to meet you” which left Meghan giggling with embarrassment as she revealed: “I met you before.”

Meghan recalled first meeting him before she even joined the cast of Suits which catapulted her to stardom and had some run-ins with him years later in New York once the legal drama was on the air.

Andy, who is a producer of Vanderpump Rules which is set to debut its 11th season this week, was in absolute disbelief as he evidently couldn’t remember meeting the Duchess of Sussex.

The mother-of-two explained that she had been “so eager” to get on Andy’s late-night chat show Watch What Happens Live, adding: “I just couldn’t get booked Andy.”

Andy seemed distraught as he squealed uncomfortably into the microphone, revealing that while he didn’t remember personally meeting Meghan, his team at Bravo did have “a feeling” that they missed out big time.

He shared: “We were like; ‘I think she may be a Housewives fan’. But even worse, I was like; ‘Oh my God, if it turns out that Meghan Markle, actually expressed an interest to be on Watch What Happens Live? It is now the biggest blunder in the 13 years of the show’.”

Keen to turn the conversation onto a less embarrassing tone, Andy asked if Meghan is still a “huge fan” of the Housewives series all these years later.

The Duchess replied: “I stopped watching the Housewives when my life had its own level of drama.”

She quickly highlighted that she understands the cultural impact of the reality shows and recalled watching the Real Housewives of Orange County while staying in California, saying: “It felt remotely like a world that I knew but still felt so foreign.”
