Meghan Markle urged to relaunch her Instagram to show 'life behind the scenes'

Meghan Markle could use social media to promote her work instead of giving “explosive interviews about her time in the Royal Family”, a PR expert has suggested.

They also urged the Duchess of Sussex to use her Instagram account to show the public what her life is “really like” behind the scenes and make herself more relatable.

It comes as the former Suits actress’s popularity in the UK hit an all-time low, according to YouGov and ahead of her reported visit to the country later in the year.

A source earlier this week claimed Meghan may return to Britain in May with husband Prince Harry to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, in London.

Now a PR expert noted the duchess’s damaged popularity and urged her to open up and be more relatable to the public in order to boost her reputation.

Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR told Express.co.uk: “She can leverage the media as a platform to promote her work instead of giving explosive interviews about her time in the Royal family, which might attract juicy gossip.

“Also, opening up on her Instagram account and showing the public what life is really like behind the scenes, instead of the polished front she puts on, would make her more relatable.

“Taking these values onboard can help Meghan endear herself to the UK public.”

Meghan’s popularity has been on a downward spiral, especially after she and Harry launched their rebranded website, Sussex.com, last month.

Another recent poll by Redfield & Wilton found the Duchess of Sussex was liked by 31 percent of people and disliked by 30 percent, meaning her net approval was a mere, plus one.

This was a significant drop from December before the sussex.com’s launch, when the Duchess of Sussex was slightly higher, on a plus 15.

Meanwhile, another PR expert previously urged the duchess to return to acting in order to make herself seem more “relatable” and make the British public “fall in love” with her again.

PR strategist, reputation manager and founder of PR with Perkes, Laura Perkes, touched down on Meghan’s possible return to acting and weighed in any chances of her rebuilding her damaged reputation by doing so.

She told Express.co.uk: “The character of Rachel Zane was relatable, which is what people loved about her.

“By playing the character again, the public will naturally fall back in love with Meghan again and could lead to the big break that she’s always wanted since childhood.”
