Meghan Markle has made an exciting new announcement following the launch of her debut rosé for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Fans flocked to the Duchess of Sussex’s brand website on Tuesday to purchase her £22-a-bottle Napa Valley rosé, which sold out in less than 50 minutes.

But a press release published on the same day revealed the Duchess will soon be releasing a new wine, as her As Ever product line will expand and feature a “thoughtful” collection of wines in the future. It read: “This debut rosé marks the beginning of As Ever’s thoughtful expansion into wine, with a Méthode Champenoise Napa Valley sparkling wine planned for the near future and additional varietals to follow.”

The brand urged customers to enjoy their new rosé, which will begin shipping on July 9, during “summer’s best moments – from lunches that turn into dinners and sun-drenched weekends where the only thing louder than the music is the laughter.”

Megha’s Napa Valley rosé 2023 was described as having “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish”.

It came in batches of three, six and twelve, with each bottle costing £22 ($30) and £66 ($90), £116 ($159) and £218 ($300) in total.

It was available to purchase only within the US with a £15 ($20) flat-rate shipping, which would have undoubtedly disappointed fans elsewhere in the world. It could also be shipped to Hawaii with additional charges.

The brand said of the new wine on its website: “Reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles, it’s crisp, pale in colour, and effortlessly elegant — crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings.”

Meghan’s wine has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 14.5%. According to the Drink Aware charity, most wines have an ABV of around 11-14%.

The wine went on sale at 4pm UK time, but the site was updated less than hour later to signal stocks were sold out.

Meghan added apricot jam to her collection in June after restocking her online store, with items selling out for a second time in a row.
