Meghan Markle 'humiliated' as publishers say she needs 'worthwhile story' before deal

Meghan Markle needs a “worthwhile story” to include in her upcoming rumoured memoir but she can’t risk giving it away to a publisher in case it is leaked, a royal expert has claimed.

After the release of Prince Harry’s book last year, Meghan plans to pen her own, but it might not be published for a few years, according to a source.

Royal commentator Neil Sean says the Duchess of Sussex has caught the attention of several publishers.

But, he claims, she’s been asked to write three chapters before getting paid.

On his YouTube channel, Sean said: “A few publishers did show interest, they feel they can make a buck but it’s all about the money they would have to shell out.

“Can you imagine the humiliation when they said they’d like to see at least three chapters first to see how the story pans out.

“In the world of publishing, this means one thing. They want to see if you’ve got a worthwhile story.

“The sticking point is they can’t trust giving anything out to a publisher without top level security because it could get leaked and then the whole deal will be ruined.”

The mum-of-two is focusing on “rebuilding her brand” after signing with talent agency William Morris Endeavor.
