Meghan Markle holds 'key influence' over 'old friend' Princess Eugenie

Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie have been labeled as “old friends” by one royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex has also been called an influence over Eugenie in the fashion sense. They met before Meghan first encountered Prince Harry.

Meghan said at the time: “Eugenie and I had known each other before I had known Harry, so that was comfortable. We’re friends with them as a couple.”

Bella Hignett, a personal stylist, said that Meghan and Eugenie’s friendship is clear through their fashion.

Hignett told GB News: “Both Meghan and Eugenie appreciate each other’s style. They are quite old friends, but I have always felt that Eugenie is quite influenced by Meghan’s wardrobe.”

Hignett added: “In the past, Eugenie has copied a few items.”

But she added that there are some differences between their wardrobes: “Meghan is trying to look more effortless and casual with her choices, whereas Eugenie’s is more put together and tailored.

“She’s definitely more aware of her royal standing. Meghan also wears a lot more trousers than Eugenie.”

Harry and Meghan went on several double dates with Eugenie and her now-husband Jack Brooksbank at the beginning of their relationship.

In addition, Eugenie and Jack visited Toronto to see the couple when Meghan was filming Suits.

Eugenie was also often featured in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series as a supporter of the pair.

She was recently pictured with Harry at the Super Bowl in 2022 and going for dinner with the Sussexes in Santa Barbara, California.

Eugenie and Jack live in Portugal with their two children, while Harry and Meghan live in Santa Barbara.
