Meghan Markle heartbreak: Duchess has 'totally written siblings out of her life'

Samantha’s case was dismissed in March by a district court judge in Tampa, Florida. Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell said she “failed to identify any statements that could support a claim for defamation.”

Meghan has had a difficult relationship with her father Thomas Markle who has openly criticised his daughter in TV interviews.

The pair have been estranged since her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, with Thomas calling Meghan “cruel” and accusing her of not allowing him to see his grandchildren.

In September 2023, Thomas renewed pleas to see his grandchildren Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, on Good Morning Britain. Speaking live from his California home, Thomas said: “I’m heartbroken. I am very upset.

“This is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent — to deny the right to see a grandchild.”

He added: “In California, I can actually sue to see them but I don’t want to do that.” Thomas went on to say: “The other thing is I’ve done nothing wrong. There’s nothing that points to say I’m a bad guy. I’m a really loving father and she knows that, and there’s no excuse for treating me this way — no excuse to treat grandparents that way.”

Thomas has faced a number of health issues, having a heart attack in the run up to Meghan and Harry’s wedding – missing the big day.

He is also father to Meghan’s estranged siblings – Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr.
