Meghan Markle has returned to social media for the first time in weeks to reveal a kind gesture made for a young girl who lost her home in the California wildfires.
Taking to her Instagram account @meghan on Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, revealed in a new video message how she met a girl and her mum in Altadena when the Duchess and Prince Harry were there volunteering during the wildfires last month.
Meghan said the girl, 15, and her mum visited their home – which was just ashes – and the mum revealed to the duchess how her teenage daughter just wanted to find her Billie Eilish concert t-shirt, which had been lost to the flames.
The Duchess of Sussex revealed how she then reached out to as many people as she knew to get in touch with Billie Eilish to replace these goods for the teenager, which she managed to do.
As the Duchess thanked Billie Eilish for the sweet gesture, Meghan also thanked other people who had helped arrange for this to happen, with American pop star Adam Levine among those mentioned.
This suggests the Duchess and Prince Harry could be friends with the Maroon 5 singer.
This comes as a surprise to many, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who quit royal life in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California – have never mentioned the pop star before.
This is despite the fact the couple live in the same area, with Adam having been spotted in Montecito multiple times over the last few years after reportedly buying a house near the beach.
As reported by Vogue Australia, the pop star and his wife, Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, bought a $29 million (£23 million) mansion not long after Harry and Meghan purchased their own sprawling estate in the celebrity hotspot town, which is also home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Katy Perry.
In the video, Meghan thanked Billie Eilish before saying: “To Adam Levine and Behati, you guys helped get this over the line.”
Since posting the video yesterday, many of Meghan’s fans have flocked to praise the duchess.
One fan wrote on X: “Meghan is the best. And it was sweet of Billie Eilish and Adam Levine to help Meghan make this happen.”
A second said: “The world needs more people like Meghan Markle.”
