Meghan Markle doesn’t consider the Royal Family’s health issues as her problem, a commentator on the royals has claimed.
Kinsey Schofield told viewers of her LA Diaries programme on TalkTV that people will be seeing much more of the Duchess of Sussex in months to come.
The US-based royal commentator, discussing Meghan’s latest outing in Beverly Hills, said: “I suspect we will see a lot more of Meghan Markle in the future sans (without) Prince Harry.
“She’s written off Harry’s family. She has no intention of keeping a low profile while the King and Catherine (Princess of Wales) navigate health scares. I don’t think she believes that this is her problem.”
Earlier this month Buckingham Palace announced King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, days after he underwent an operation for an enlarged prostate. The monarch has since postponed all public-facing duties, but is continuing with behind-the-scenes work on his red boxes of state papers.
Princess Kate underwent planned abdominal surgery in January and is recovering at the Waleses’ Adelaide Cottage home in Windsor. Meghan, meanwhile, was recently spotted in Los Angeles where she dined out with the boss of Oprah Winfrey’s production company.
The Duchess of Sussex is believed to have dined with Terry Woods, Executive Producer of Oprah’s Harpo Productions company. She also appeared alongside her husband, Prince Harry, at the Invictus Games One Year To Go winter training camp in Vancouver, Canada earlier this month.
During her 10-minute segment on TalkTV, Ms Schofield pointed to claims first reported by the Mirror that Harry is “very bored” in California and is eyeing a return to the UK to help the working royals.
Author Tom Quinn told the same publication Harry misses being a working royal, adding: “Being a royal is the only thing he is trained to do and he is getting very bored in California.
“He knows that to retain his value and the interest of the world he is better off not being a retired royal so offering to come back to help out at least reminds the world who and what he is.”
Daily Mail diarist Richard Eden said claims Harry wanted to return to royal life were well-sourced, but Prince William was keen to ensure the terms of the Sandringham Summit agreement – which decided Harry and Meghan’s future roles – were abided by.
Meghan, however, is reportedly set against the idea of Harry taking on a temporary role while his father and sister in law are dealing with their health challenges.
Ms Schofield, who was presenting from a Princess Diana exhibition in Las Vegas, concluded by asking viewers in response: “Do you think William is right to ice out his brother?”
