Meghan Markle 'couldn't bear' Prince Harry's moment in spotlight

Meghan Markle “took away” Prince Harry’s moment in the spotlight as a result of the launch of her latest project.

That’s the view of royal author Angela Levin, the writer behind Harry: A Biography of a Prince, who said Meghan “couldn’t bear” the conversation to be about him.

In recent weeks, former actress Meghan launched a new lifestyle brand, American Riveriea Orchard.

The announcement of the project came just hours before Prince Harry was due to speak at the Princess Diana Legacy Awards – a ceremony used to mark the memory of his mother.

But speaking to GBN America, Ms Levin said Meghan’s choice of announcing the project launch was “very cruel” as the Diana Awards was a charity that helps “give back to young people”.

The ceremony was also overshadowed when the Sussexes confirmed the winner of their NAACP – Archewell Foundation Digital Civil Rights Award.

Speaking to GBN America host Nana Akua, Ms Levin said the brand launch was “well-timed”.

She noted that when it came to a comparison of Harry and Meghan, the prince was “out the door when it comes to who is in the spotlight”.

Ms Levin added that those training for the event – which is scheduled to take place in Canada next year – have even asked how they can “stop the games from going ahead”.

She concluded: “She comes over, she does a speech, she does a second speech, she leads people down the paths and the winners, and they say she knows nothing about fighting and going in wars.

“It was Harry’s job, and I think they feel quite sorry for him. They’re angry.”

Talk around where the 2027 Invictus Games could be held has also grown – with claims it could possibly take place in Birmingham.

Ms Akua said it could be a chance to “actually unite the Royal Family and bring them together, because the family are now together”.

But Ms Levin added: “I don’t think Harry’s got anything to look forward to, really. If this happens in the UK, it’s going to be very, very difficult for the Royal Family.

“I think it’s an extraordinary attitude that Meghan has, she thinks she’s better than everyone. She thinks of herself as globally famous.

“They’ve got a bit of money, but they haven’t got much money to pay for it. The money’s not there.”
