Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's 'disastrous 2023' made couple a 'laughing stock'

Heydel-Mankoo said: “I think this has been a disastrous year for the Montecito duo topping and tailing with two disastrous books, Spare as you said, which made them into a laughing stock globally that and South Park their worldwide privacy tour.

“We saw them being mocked by Family Guy in every late-night talk show. And ending the year also with Endgame written by Omid Scobie.”

Speaking to GB News, he added: “Their poll ratings took a nosedive. They’ll be very happy to see an end to this year.”

Harry and Meghan faced particular backlash after failing to address claims Scobie made in his book despite multiple experts urging them to distance themselves from the author.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, reputation management expert Eddie Coram James said: “In many ways, the Scobie book is the last thing that the Sussexes need right now.

“Even if some of the revelations may, on face value, appear positive for them, the overriding result of the book will be that it reminds the public of a scandal that all parties would be best served by moving on from.

“The less that the royal fallout is in the headlines, the better for all parties, including the Sussexes.”

Sources close to the couple have suggested Meghan and Harry consider 2024 their “year of redemption” – and that the couple are set to focus their efforts on new non-royal-related deals and their organisation Archewell.

The non-profit experienced a considerable loss in donations over the past 12 months, with the Duchess now eager to work on new projects to turn around the fate of the foundation.
