In Japan, the fast-food giant acknowledged a “system failure” and advised patrons to be patient while they work to resolve the problem.
In the UK, users have also noted their local stores have been affected.
“All McDonald’s in Eastbourne closed due to technical issues. Has McDonald’s been hit by a cyberattack?” One user tweeted.
Another speculated that the potential motive behind it: “There is a possibility that the cause of McDonald’s system failures around the world was a cyber attack by Russia or pro-Hamas groups!?”
