It’s a Barbie world, and we’re just living in it.
With weeks left until the Greta Gerwig-directed “Barbie” movie finally drops, Margot Robbie has been whipping out a slew of Barbie-pink outfits at press events and “pink carpets” for the new movie.
Several of the “Wolf of Wall Street” actress’ premiere and press tour looks are directly inspired by real Barbie doll outfits. And if her pink carpet photos are any indication, Robbie seems to have the iconic doll’s bubbly and plastic smiles down-pat.
Margot Robbie celebrates birthday in Seoul with retro ‘Day to Night Barbie’ outfit
At the Seoul, South Korea, premiere of “Barbie” on July 2, Robbie wore two twin looks directly inspired by a real 1984 Barbie doll. The “Day to Night Barbie” came with a sparkly dress and hot pink suit that kids could easily switch out, as featured in this iconic ad.
Robbie’s part-Versace look includes the same adorable polka-dot pink hat, chiffon scarf to hide a dress underneath and tulle skirt from the original doll, plus pink-and-white color-block shoes.
July 2 was the actress’ 33rd birthday — so she celebrated with a bubblegum pink cake, of course.
Robbie also got all dolled up for the Seoul press conference for “Barbie” on July 3. This look featured an adorable hot-pink hair bow, matching suit, skirt, and crop top and one of many iconic tiny pink purses.

Margot Robbie shimmers in Versace at ‘Barbie’ Celebration Party in Sydney
Robbie had more sparkle to show off at the Sydney “Barbie” Celebration Party held at the Museum of Contemporary Art on June 30. Here, she wore a shiny metallic Versace dress with a corset-style top inspired by a look from Versace’s vintage 1994 fall collection famously worn by Claudia Schiffer.
A fun, swishy skirt provided the perfect Barbie-glam finishing touch.
Robbie came prepared to a “Barbie” fan event in Sydney on June 30, too. She wore another Versace look: a pale pink cable-knit turtle neck paired with campy movie star sunglasses.
In true Barbie-girl style, Robbie was all bubbly smiles as she posed for photos with fans during the event.
Margot Robbie dresses as the first Barbie in Hervé Leger bodycon dress
At a press junket at Bondi Icebergs Dining and Bar on Australia’s Bondi Beach, Robbie channeled the very first Barbie doll in a black-and-white Hervé Leger bodycon dress.
The very first Barbie dolls were introduced in 1959, and wore black-and-white striped swimsuits.
Margot Robbie rocks pink polka dots at ‘Barbie’ movie Beverly Hills press junket
The devil works hard, but the marketing team behind the “Barbie” movie works harder.
The film has had no ordinary press run. On June 25, their official press junket was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, and featured Barbie-pink cars and cast members decked out head-to-toe in Barbie pink.
Robbie posed for pictures in a Valentino halter dress that mirrored a look from the brand’s spring 1993 collection.
Robbie’s not the only cast member who’s gotten decked out in Barbie-pink lately: Her co-star and “Ken” Ryan Gosling has had plenty of show-stopping Barbiecore moments of his own.
